Florida insurance market

They don't have a leak. They have an insurance problem.

Their carrier is about to send them a letter. When it arrives, they're calling the first roofer they find. FirstKnock lets you knock on the door before the letter does.

Florida Statute 627.7011 allows insurance carriers to require inspection or deny renewal on any roof 15 years or older — no damage required. Private carriers are setting cutoffs as low as 10 years. Citizens Property Insurance requires full replacement documentation on shingle roofs over 25 years. These homeowners aren't waiting for a storm. They're waiting for a letter they don't know is coming.

Under 15 years

Protected by state law — no action required.

15–20 years

Inspection required. Many carriers downgrade to ACV, reducing future claim payouts.

20+ years

Most private carriers decline new policies entirely. Citizens becomes the only option.

Why the data is accurate

In Florida, every roof replacement requires a permit. No permit on record means no new roof. It's that simple.

Florida law requires a permit for every roofing job beyond a minor patch. That means every legitimate replacement is filed with the county — date stamped and publicly accessible. FirstKnock pulls directly from those records. When we show you a home with no permit in 20 years, that's not an estimate. It's a government record.

No guesswork

Every lead is backed by an actual permit record from the county. If there's no permit, there's no new roof. Period.

Unpermitted work is worse

If a homeowner had work done without a permit, their insurance carrier can deny claims and void coverage. That roof still needs to be replaced — and documented properly.

Frequently asked

Where does the lead data come from?

County property appraiser records and municipal permit portals. Every lead is backed by a real building permit on file — no proxies, no year-built guesses. Jacksonville is sourced from the Duval Property Appraiser, Pinellas from pcpao.gov (covering all 21 city/county agencies), and Tampa from the City of Tampa Accela permit system (2009–2026).

How recent is the data?

Data is refreshed monthly. Each lead shows the permit year so you know exactly how old the roof is and whether the homeowner is in the typical 20–30 year replacement window.

What does a lead include?

Owner name, property address, parcel number, permit year, year built, structure type, and (where available) mailing address. You can export your unlocked leads as CSV or print a contact list.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Subscriptions are month-to-month with no contract. Cancel from the customer portal — your remaining credits stay usable through the end of the billing period.

What is the founding discount?

25% off every month, locked in for life, for the first 100 customers across all tiers. After we hit 100, founding pricing closes and the discount is gone.

What is Territory Lock?
